Why is Napa Valley wine so famous?

The Napa Valley is one of the Great Wine Capitals of the World, producing world class wines due to the amazing variety of 16 AVAs (American Viticulture Areas’) in the valley.

The Napa Valley has over 400 wineries and is known internationally for its complex chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons. But the Napa Valley produces most grape varietals, from cool-climate grapes at the southern end to warm-climate grapes in the north.

Are wine tastings free?

Guests will need to pay for wine tasting in the Napa Valley. Tastings will vary from $10-100 but usually be around the $20 mark.

Does the Napa Valley have any Michelin-starred restaurants?

The Napa Valley is home to two 3-Star Michelin restaurants, the French Laundry and The Restaurant at Meadowood. It also has four one-star establishments: The Restaurant at Auberge, La Toque, Kenzo Napa, and Bouchon Bistro, as well as 25 other restaurants noted in the California Michelin Guide.

What else is there to do in the Napa Valley?

The Napa Valley has so many experiences and activities to explore. The arts and culture are represented across the Valley, with many wineries pairing their varietals with world-famous art collections.

Beer and spirits are also commonly crafted around the Napa Valley, or for more active pursuits, hot air ballooning, and golf are featured in a number of destinations around the valley.

Boutique shopping, culinary classes and  some of the most fabulous spas are also favourites for travellers coming to the Napa Valley.
